Where: El Nido, Palawan Who: Mr. & Mrs. Wanderlust, Little Miss Wanderlust with Papi, Mita, Aaron, Alexi When: Oct 2012 What: Definitely one of the best beaches in the Philippines and the world! From Manila, there are available flights from different airlines direct to El Nido, which probably has higher cost and smaller plane. Second option is a flight from Manila to Palawan's capital, Puerto Princesa, then another 6 hour land travel, usually by rented van or other vehicles to El Nido. **Protip: Like with everything else. Plan ahead! Book months in advance when you see a real good deal sale to save on airfare. Same with accommodation places. What to Expect: Once in El Nido, there would be several resorts & establishment and the nice view of the beach but the beach and sand isn't that nice, (all sewers of the said resorts and establishments seems to bring out their waste water into the beach - So it just kinda serves as a jump off point) All the nicest beaches are in the different islands where you need to ride a boat to get to. So it is needed to prepare cash for boat packages which are getting kinda expensive these days being a popular tourist spot. So being in a remote place without any ATM nearby, I would suggest to ready your ca$h.. Now for the few who has money to burn, there are these private island resorts in El Nido that can accommodate you in their private beaches away from too much boats, crowd, Islands like Miniloc, Apulit & Lagen to name a few. Island hopping Rock climbing Food tripping Beach chillin' while Beer sippin' Relax all the way. We have been there 2012, prices probably has increased since then. Tours now (or so I've heard from my traveler friends) are running up to 1,200 to 1,500 PHP per person/head for tours that includes boat ride to 5 islands, lunch and tour guide.
