But our adventure doesn't end here – we're embarking on an unforgettable day tour to Marrakesh, the jewel of Morocco's crown. How To Get There: we opted for a more intimate exploration of the country's scenic landscapes. Setting off from the bustling streets of Casablanca, we embarked on a picturesque journey towards Chefchaouen, the famed 'Blue City' nestled amidst the Rif Mountains. Choosing the convenience and flexibility of a locally rented small FIAT cab, we savored every twist and turn of the winding roads, marveling at the rugged beauty of Morocco's countryside along the way. In Chefchaouen, our trusty FIAT cab awaited, ready to whisk us away to our next destination: the imperial city of Fez. Once again, we embraced the freedom of independent travel, immersing ourselves in the sights and sounds of the Moroccan landscape as we ventured onward to our next chapter of discovery Where To Stay: In Chefchaouen, we found ourselves enveloped in the serene beauty of the Rif Mountains, where our accommodation offered a breathtaking panorama of the rugged landscape. Waking up to the soothing hues of blue against the backdrop of the mountains was nothing short of magical. Transitioning to Fez, we opted for a truly immersive experience by staying in an ancient house nestled within the labyrinthine alleys of the ancient city. Navigating the maze-like streets was an adventure in itself, but with the guidance of knowledgeable locals, we were able to delve deep into the heart of Fez's rich history and culture. As we meandered through narrow alleys brimming with local life and devoid of tourist crowds, each corner revealed a glimpse into the authentic charm of this ancient city What To Do: 1. As we reached Dar Bensouda, we were met with a sight that took our breath away. Tucked away behind unassuming walls, the riad revealed itself as a majestic oasis of tranquility, boasting a central courtyard adorned with intricate tilework and lush greenery. Our accommodation, reminiscent of a castle from a fairy tale, exuded an air of timeless elegance and charm. Settling into our rooms, we marveled at the blend of traditional Moroccan décor and modern comforts, each corner adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant textiles. As night fell, we found ourselves immersed in the serenity of Dar Bensouda, a sanctuary amidst the bustling energy of Fez's ancient medina. With the sound of distant prayers echoing through the air, we drifted off to sleep, dreaming of the rich history and enchanting beauty that surrounded us.
