From Manila, take a bus bound to Laoag, Vigan and Abra. You can choose different bus company including Florida, Genesis, Dominion, Fariñas, Viron and Parta. Ask the driver to let you down at the Poro Poro Point San Fernando, La Union. It takes 6-8 hours drive.

From Manila , take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) – Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), take the National Highway going to San Fernando, La Union. You will pass by the provinces of Tarlac and Pangasinan.
Once you get to San Fernando, La Union, turn left to Pennsylvania Avenue. Landmark is the Monument of the Unknown Soldiers. Go straight until you enter the gate of the Poro Point Freeport Zone. Less than a kilometer from the gate, you will reach Thunderbird Resorts – Poro Point. Hotel gate is on your left.
Six hours drive from Manila to up north to province of La Union. We went to a 'Santorini inspired resort' which was really neat, big pool that kids will love, spacious room (no beach front though), good food and private beach which is a 2-5 minute walk from their rooms.
The luxurious resort has Athena Villa and El Mundo Villa, offering Deluxe Garden Room, Deluxe Balcony Room and Deluxe VO Room which ranging from Php 7,000++ to Php 20,000 ++ per night.

There are lots of things and activities to do in the resort, like the usual swimming, beach bum, food trip, and other water activities, and this luxurious resort even has its own casino complex, so you can try your luck there.
Other things to see in the area: You may do your research to know which ones you want to see, or I believe you can even make arrangements with the hotel staff to help you organizing tours on the said places below.
